Easter Sunday 2026: Nothing Keeps Jesus Away From You

Apr 5, 2026    Pastor Nathan Sheridan

This Easter message reminds us that Jesus makes himself known to ordinary people in extraordinary ways. Through John chapter 20, we encounter three individuals whose stories reveal profound truths about encountering the risen Christ. Mary Magdalene, grieving at the empty tomb, discovers that in our deepest pain, Jesus sees us and calls us by name. Thomas, absent during Jesus' first appearance and struggling with doubt, learns that our questions don't push God away, but He welcomes them and invites us to bring our skepticism directly to Him. Peter, devastated by his three denials, experiences restoration where Jesus asks him three times about his love. The beauty of these encounters is that Jesus didn't appear to religious elites or those who had it all together. He came to the broken, the doubting, and the failing. This Easter, we're invited to see that Jesus isn't as far away as we think, that our doubts are opportunities for deeper faith, and that our failures are never the end of our story. The resurrection proves that God specializes in making all things new.
