Devotion
The story of Samson in Judges 13-16 is one of great strength—and great weakness. Chosen by God from birth, Samson was given extraordinary power to deliver Israel from the Philistines. Yet, his downfall came through pride, self-indulgence, and a lack of self-control. Ultimately, after being captured and blinded, Samson calls out to God one final time: "Sovereign Lord, remember me. Please, God, strengthen me just once more…" (Judges 16:28)
In his weakness, Samson finally surrenders to God's power, and in that moment, God uses him for a mighty victory. His story reminds us that true strength is found not in our own abilities, but in surrendering to God's will.
Psalm 146 echoes this truth, urging us not to put our trust in human strength but in God alone: "Do not put your trust in princes, in human beings, who cannot save… Blessed are those whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the Lord their God." (Psalm 146:3,5)
When we trust in ourselves, we will fail. But when we trust in God, He is faithful to uphold us.
In Luke 24, we see the ultimate display of God's power—the resurrection of Jesus Christ! The disciples, once filled with sorrow and doubt, are transformed when they realize that Jesus is alive. "Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; He has risen!" (Luke 24:5-6)
Samson's story ends in physical death, but Jesus' story ends in resurrection and eternal life. Because of Him, our failures are not final, and our weaknesses do not define us. When we surrender to Christ, we receive true strength, hope, and victory.
Are you trying to rely on your own strength today? Are you carrying burdens that only God can handle? Let go, surrender to Him, and trust in the power of His resurrection.

Prayer
Lord, I confess that I often rely on my own strength instead of trusting in You. Teach me to surrender, knowing that true power comes from You alone. Thank You for the victory of Jesus’ resurrection, which gives me hope and new life. Help me to walk in faith today. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
